CHALLENGE

Georgia-Pacific needed a more intelligent way to identify and route qualified leads to its sales team. Their existing approach couldn’t reliably detect when accounts were in-market, what signals indicated readiness, or which prospects had the highest long-term value. As a result, sales outreach wasn’t always aligned to real buying intent, and high-potential leads were being missed or engaged too late. GP needed an advanced scoring and routing model that could surface the right accounts at the right time and ensure that sales resources were being deployed where they could make the greatest impact.

SOLUTION

We began by auditing Georgia-Pacific’s historical account and behavioral data, then augmenting it with third-party industry insights to enrich attributes that weren’t easily captured through marketing interactions alone. Using this expanded data foundation, we developed and tested predictive models to identify the attributes and behaviors most likely to signal openness, in-market status, and long-term customer value.

From there, we built a points-based lead scoring system directly in Salesforce, assigning each prospect a dynamic score based on their stage in the demand generation process. These scores triggered automated workflows aligned to the lead’s value and intent, ranging from call center outreach and sales rep follow-up to direct mail and nurturing emails. The result was a smarter, signal-based system that automatically prioritized leads and routed them to the right channel at exactly the right moment.

RESULTS

The new scoring and routing model transformed GP’s ability to convert leads efficiently and effectively. By identifying high-value accounts earlier and aligning outreach to real buying intent, Georgia-Pacific reduced time-to-conversion and increased new lead sales by 113%. What had once been a manual, reactive process became a high-performance engine that empowered both marketing and sales to work in sync, guided by data and designed for scale.
